And then Cats happened. Les Misérables is Ladj Ly's hard-hitting police procedural set in Montfermeil, the eastern suburb of Paris where the Thénardiers' inn from Victor Hugo's famed novel is also located.

Ly grew up in this area, marked by housing projects populated by minority residents chiefly of North African (Muslim) origin. He follows a squad of three police officers who patrol the area in their squad car. When we first meet them, Ruiz (Damien Bonnard) a transfer apparently from a more middle-class precinct, has joined the team, led by Chris (Alexis Manenti) a tough, no-nonsense officer of Caucasian extraction along with Gwada (Djibril Zonga) his equally hardened North African streetwise subordinate.

From the outset, Ruiz obviously is uncomfortable with Chris's willingness to skirt the law in order to bend the residents of Montfermeil to his will. Chris must deal with the "Mayor" of the neighborhood, who appears to receive bribes from local merchants in a large neighborhood flea market and acts as a quasi-mentor of the teenagers, most of whom engage in acting-out behavior. There is also Salah, a former criminal turned Iman, who provides spiritual counsel to the community but represents a more militant voice among the Muslim population, who are quite resentful of authority in general.

Ly cleverly breaks into his second act when Issa, a teenager steals a lion cub from a local circus run by a bunch of hothead gypsy racists, who drive into the projects carrying bats and threaten to attack the residents if the cub isn't returned to them immediately.

Chris and his squad break up the fight between the two groups. Ly pulls no punches in his depiction of the police officers, who engage in questionable, illegal tactics but remain devoted to resolving the burgeoning violent confrontation between the right and left wing militants. If they are unsuccessful, a full-scale riot may ensue.

Ly raises the stakes in his story when Gwada shoots Issa in the face with a flash gun after he and his pals surround the police and throw rocks at them. Meanwhile, a nerdy kid from the project has been filming the entire incident overhead with a drone and Chris races to confiscate the video card before it can be posted on the internet.

A climactic chase culminates in Chris allowing Ruiz to negotiate with Salah, who ultimately hands over the video card to ensure the riot doesn't take place. The lion cub is returned to the gypsies, but the owner of the circus punishes Issa by dragging him into a lion's cage as a warning not to steal any of their property again.

Ly's plot is clever as he both entertains and edifies, chronicling the explosive societal tensions that exist in French society today. Only the denouement, which features a riot by the teenagers as they trap the hapless three officers in the narrow confines of a hallway in one of the buildings, proves to be cinematic overkill. Ironically, it's the reasonable Ruiz, who stands pointing his firearm at Issa while he stands at the bottom of a stairwell, as the out of control teenager menacingly stands a flight above, brandishing a Molotov cocktail.

Eighty percent of the actors Ly employed here were local kids who had never acted in a film before. Ly's direction of them is masterful. At a recent Q&A, Ly confirmed that a good deal of the film's style was influenced by American films. I wouldn't be surprised if some US production houses came calling, offering loads of cash to adapt this for an English speaking audience, primarily for the US market.

Feels so real... Apollo 13 Friday the 13 Friday the 13: scary Apollo 13 scary Coincidence. I've seen "Apollo 13" a few times now, and even with two sets of DVD commentary and a fine documentary under my belt, I can't exactly say what took place. They call it a "Main Bus B Undervolt, but whatever the case, it cripples the spacecraft Apollo 13 just as it is about to reach the moon, forcing the crew to abandon their mission and undergo some hasty improvisations in order to make it back to Earth alive.
There's a lot of technical jargon spewed in this film, not as much as was actually uttered on the spacecraft and at Mission Control in Houston, but enough to befuddle those of us who dozed off in science class back in high school. Still, I enjoyed this film, even when I didn't quite understand it.
Tom Hanks stars as steady-in-zero-G Apollo 13 commander Jim Lovell, successfully underplaying the heroics without losing the dramatic urgency of the moment. Early in the movie, we see him joke with his wife, Marilyn (Kathleen Quinlan) with the sort of easy banter those of us who have followed him since "Bosom Buddies" are accustomed to. There's a funny scene early on, as he watches the Apollo 11 landing with a roomful of simultaneously proud and jealous fellow astronauts, all yelling at the television to abort seconds before Neil Armstrong takes his one small step for man. It's funny because they all wanted to be first on the moon, and also, in a ghoulish kind of prefiguring way, because aborting the mission is exactly what is going to happen to poor Jim.
There's also an early scene between Lovell and his youngest son, when the father is asked if he knew the crew of Apollo 1, who perished in a capsule fire scene in an opening sequence. Hanks answers matter-of-factly, with a mesmerizing combination of steely control and compassion for what his child is experiencing. There's a lot going on under the surface, and while it's my favorite scene, it's easy to miss. Many good moments like that are sprinkled like stardust throughout the picture.
The movie is a fine, solid piece of entertainment, a little loose with the facts but essentially true to what Apollo 13 was about, but what makes this especially recommendable is the DVD, particularly the commentary track by the real Jim and Marilyn Lovell (SPOILER ALERT: He did survive.) At one point, when the film has Hanks imagining himself landing on the moon, the real Marilyn Lovoll audibly breaks down as she describes her sadness that her husband would never have this moment in reality (though what he got instead, however harrowing, turned out to be far more memorable than merely being Moon Man #5.) Jim himself is laconic as he fills in gaps in the storyline and explains where the film took liberties, meanwhile giving us a sense of where Hanks got his character from. For that, and many other reasons, this is a prize DVD for anyone's collection.
A good feeling for the period abounds. We see smoking in the control room, miniskirts, floral upholstery, and ugly shagwall sideburns. The Lovells' oldest daughter has a conniption the day of the launch because the Beatles have just broken up, one of the things the Lovells address as a liberty in their commentary (she wasn't that much of a Beatles fan) but does make sense, because April 1970 was the month Paul McCartney announced the end of the band.
Director Ron Howard piles on the technical detail. He wants us to understand just how tough it was to get Apollo 13 back, on enough power to barely run a coffee machine. He doesn't shirk from showing us a control room that is stacked to the rafters with what Howard himself calls "techno-nerds with pocket protectors" who emerge as real heroes in one of NASA's darkest hours. You have Todd Louiso from "High Fidelity, Val Kilmer's buddy from "Real Genius" Gabe Jarrett) even Clint Howard, Ron's brother, perhaps filmdom's uber-nerd.
Nepotism is a good thing here. Not only does Clint have a good scene explaining to flight director Ed Harris that the moonshot is kaput and they will have their hands full just bringing the crew home, but their late mother Jean Speegle Howard shines as Jim Lovell's stroke-addled matriarch, delivering two of the film's best lines.
I'm not crazy about "Apollo 13, but I like it a lot, and I find myself liking it more the more I watch it. Ron Howard movies tend to push for maximum uplift, and the manipulation can be annoying, but here he seems to pull back on that while focusing on the human equation at the heart of the story. Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinese and especially Harris and Quinlan give excellent support for one of Hanks' best star vehicles, all the more a vehicle because Hanks serves the story rather than tries to make the story serve him.
Hanks was inspired enough by this experience to do a series of critically-acclaimed mini-films documenting the Apollo program. You might be inspired enough to visit your local library, or do some Googling online. It's not `Gone With The Wind, but as a history/science lesson, Apollo 13' is a damn fine piece of work.

Federico Fellini, one of the most gifted and visually wild Italian directors of the 20th century, blossomed out until with his masterpiece 8 1/2 (which, by the time he got to, as Martin Scorsese once said, he was on Mars. With his first solo effort, parting ways with Rossellini but not entirely from neo-realism, he went back to one of his passions- comic-book writing. Los Sciecco Bianco (The White Shiek) is likely one of Fellini's funniest works, and it shows him gearing up his visual sense of space, and with his trademark characters (set, which is his usual, in Rome.
The story is quite simple and, for the novice to Fellini's daring feats of the 60's, entertaining and accessible. A man with a level of pride in his family's connections in bureaucracy and religion in Rome (played by Leopoldo Triste, with perfect usage of wide eyes) is married to a young woman, Wanda (Brunella Bovo. She loves him, but finds him perhaps a little un-easy to be around for a day. So, she sneaks off for what she thinks is just a momentary call for fandom- she's a big fan of 'the white sheik' the star of the kinds of comics being printed in Italy (mostly for women, as said on the DVD, they were still photos as opposed to drawings, with pulp/love stories. But, in a Fellinian twist, Wanda gets whisked away by the shooting crew of the series, and Ivan (Triste) is stuck in one of those text-book comic situations, where everything is "under control. The results are rather funny, if also intriguing.
The little characters are also what makes the film fun, aside from our lead couple, and with this film we get the white sheik himself, Fernando Rivoli (Alberto Sordi, who finds that line between a stealthily romantic type and hopelessly dim) and the crew, filled with their little comments. Plus, there is a late-night visit to Ivan in a despairing state, from Cabiria (later to appear in one of Masina/Fellini's best combinations, Nights of Cabiria) involving a flame shooter. And as the film unravels, it becomes key to the fun- we know things will turn out right somehow, but how is what makes the film work (unlike Fellini, some might think, as many of his other films are the opposite, with flights of fantastical comedy in hopeless tragedies. It's not a great film, there are some inconsistencies, and at a couple of points the pace loses its strength. But if this was a place to evolve from for the director, it's not a bad place in the slightest. That there are wonderful turns for Trieste, Bovo, Marchio, and legendary composer Nina Rota, is another reason to watch it.

Lets go ahead and state the obvious: China is a huge country. With such a diversity of places, ecosystems, industries, and people, China seems to render irrelevant any attempt to depict it in miniature. Director Wang Xiaoshuai takes an unconventional approach to this problem in his stunning documentary Chinese Portrait, suggesting that the best way to offset information overload is to slow down and let images speak. Trying to describe Chinese Portrait is simultaneously too easy and too difficult. Over the films 80 minutes, we see a variety of long-take scenes of everyday life. There is no narration and no obvious progression between images. Wang Xiaoshuais camera catches every imaginable environment, from the bustling big city to verdant meadows to run down, post-industrial wasteland. He captures people on trains, in the street, at meals and prayer – living life. Crucially, he captures people from different classes, walks of life, and backgrounds, including an incredible sequence of Chinese Muslims engaging in prayer. The word “portrait” in the title proves just as important as the word “Chinese. ” These are static frame long takes – much like “Now Something Is Slowly Changing” – so the eye roams around the image freely. In many shots, a single figure or small group will stand in the foreground, not moving at all, while in the background life continues apace. In this way the film really does feel like a series of portraits, an unnerving but fascinating effect. Wang Xiaoshuai himself becomes the subject of a number of these portraits throughout the film, standing in front of the various locations he chronicles, making this a participatory documentary of a very strange type. In most participatory docs, the filmmaker interacts with the audience, leading them along and bantering with them. Here the director has an almost ghostly presence, silent but unmissable. The film has another level, too, one that in my mind moves it from very good to great. Chinese Portrait, shot over the course of ten years, utilizes both print film and digital, and plays up the differences between the two media, using a more widescreen aspect ratio for the digital sections (meaning that the image occupies more of the horizontal space of the screen. This means that, even if you are not used to spotting the qualitative differences between the two, your brain should register a dissonance as the film jumps back and forth. To accentuate this, the print film shots often end with a few seconds of blank sepia film, accompanied by a crackle as the sound cuts out, creating ellipses in the film, temporary breathing points that underscore the material nature of print film. Without saying a word, Wang Xiaoshuai documents the uncertain transition from print to digital, not drawing explicit conclusions but letting the images tell their own tale of the advantages and disadvantages of each. As film pushes into the future, so does China – but at what cost? The film remains silent on this question, but it lingers through each exquisite frame.

Images from Chinese Portrait ( Wang Xiaoshuai, 2018) A brief sequence in Wang Xiaoshuais new documentary depicts the scene at a Chinese coastal resort. In one shot, a man stands gazing out at the sea while children splash around happily and families lounge on the sand in the background; in another, a middle-aged man wearing swimming trunks and a medallion looks to camera quizzically, with the thoroughly rakish look of an ageing holiday Lothario. These may not be not exceptional images in themselves, but they made me realize that this was something I had never seen in a Chinese film before, documentary or fiction: something as ordinary as people enjoying leisure time themselves on the beach. Its not that Chinese cinema has necessarily been avoiding this aspect of life as too mundane or undramatic, just surely that contemporary life in China is so vast and multifarious that the national cinema may not be able to trawl in all its facets. Nevertheless, this 2018 documentary by “Sixth Generation” director Wang makes a good attempt at doing that. The first great film of this year, arguably, was Wang Xiaoshuais three-hour  So Long, My  Son, which followed a family through three decades of modern Chinese history; although it is only 80 minutes long, his  Chinese Portrait  is equally expansive, although in a telegraphic, fragmented manner. In its English title, the film presents itself as an overall portrait of a nation, but each single image is itself a portrait—of people, locations, lifestyles, traditions. We see Chinese work, leisure, religion (Buddhist and Muslim) we see industry, transport, agriculture, landscape tamed and in revolt. There are just over 60 main shots in Wangs film—give or take a handful that figure as all but subliminal—nearly all of them locked off, many of them highly composed, even artificial. Shot over 10 years on both film and digital, sometimes emphasizing the portrait aspect by the use of Academy ratio frames with rounded corners—sometimes separated by lengths of leader in various colors—the film offers a range of snapshots of contemporary China. Its hard to resist the allusion to still photography. Wang often poses his subjects in stationary groups, while a single element in the picture—a chain, a flapping bit of fabric, or an unruly child—moves to remind us that were not looking at stills. These images resemble a set of pictures in a modern photography gallery: most of them have a stillness and composure that makes you want to hold at length on each one before walking on to the next. In some of the larger landscape shots with human figures, you might think of the huge staged compositions of Jeff Wall: a grey vista of tower blocks, with the tiny figure of a street cleaner in day-glo orange wandering in the foreground. The more spectacular images of workplaces—offices, factories, a classroom—have a touch of Andreas Gursky. The images are presented without commentary, explanatory captions, or even subtitles in those sequences that contain dialogue; theres barely any music. This is a country laid out before us, but not with appeal to the touristic eye; the non-Chinese viewer is often left to guess at the exact nature of context and content alike, although nearly all the images are fairly transparent and immediate in their effect. Does it help to know, however, that one shot of the director himself shows him at Tiananmen Square? Another image shows a red-robed Buddhist monk with his back to the camera, facing a range of mountains; flags blow in the breeze, wind is heard in the background. Is this in some way a comment on Chinas relationship to Tibet? One suspects it might be, but the film tells us nothing. This is very much, although not entirely, a film about people. Photographed variously by Wu Di, Zeng Jian, Zeng Hu, and Piao Xinghai, many of the shots are posed group portraits, often absolutely still, although not everyone will freeze for the camera. In a photo of a shepherding couple and their flock, the humans stand still while a lamb wriggles in the womens arms; at a family backyard meal, a little girl wanders around while, conversely, the elderly woman farthest from us gazes intently at the camera. Wang often has a single person looking straight at us out of an otherwise natural shot in which people arent apparently aware of the camera at all. In an open-plan office, business appears to go on, as on a normal working day, but one man near the foreground stares at us; similarly, in a university classroom scene full of students writing away, a young woman meets our gaze, immobile, pen to her lips—the seeming naturalness of the scene undermined by the fact that no-one turns a hair when the recess bell rings. Sometimes Wang Xiaoshuai highlights the self-reflexive aspect to his portraiture, or just its painterliness. Some images show the director himself, a stocky, middle-aged man gazing with a somewhat comic glumness at the camera: in Tiananmen Square, or on the back platform of a moving train (he then cuts away to passengers looking back at the camera, or back at him, although most appear to lose interest after a few moments. In another, the films one overt joke, he stands in the yard of a seemingly disused factory, before a line of workers file right past him, ignoring him totally (his nod to the Lumières and the birth of cinema. We see a group of young women posing in a desolate landscape, while in the foreground, a mainly blank canvas shows the sketched outline of one of them. After a while, the painter appears in shot—Liu Xiadong, whose work was apparently one of the inspirations for this film (a Google search reveals that this image shows him working on a 2010 group portrait called Out of Beichuan. Another image shows a young female dancer standing against a pillar, others lined up in a dark background in sequins and tulle; with its artfully achieved lighting, it seems to channel a painting by Degas or Lautrec. Edited by Valérie Loiseleux—a long-term collaborator of Manoel de Oliveira and Eugène Green—this leisurely film sometimes frames images in isolation, sometimes juxtaposes them for analogy or contrast, very occasionally uses sound to stitch together suites of seemingly unconnected images. One sequence shows a plane etching a white line across a blue sky, then a factory belching smoke, ice drifting on a river, sheep in a green field gradually sweeping across the entire screen; what connects them is a little symphony of unexplained, seemingly unconnected sounds (beginning with footsteps, odd scratchings) threaded throughout. In images like this, or in a single extended shot of long grass waving in the wind,  Chinese Portrait  echoes Abbas Kiarostamis  Five; elsewhere its group portraits echo Agnès Varda and JRs  Faces Places. There is very little event in  Chinese Portrait, although one incident is quite genuinely explosive: an excavator with a drill attachment chips away insistently at the corner pillar of a huge concrete industrial building, until it suddenly crashed down with an almighty boom, dust filling the screen. This is one of many images of destruction and reconstruction in the film, some by all accounts relating to the devastating earthquake of the Sichuan province in 2008—such as the apartment block caved in down the middle, like a collapsed cake. By contrast, there are various buildings under construction, some of them glumly functional, as opposed to the glossy display maquette of a city project space with glowing skyscrapers. In its fragmented, montaged way,  Chinese Portrait  tells as forceful a picture of social change as Wangs  So Long, My Son, which spans several decades and ends with its lead characters returning to the city they once knew, some of the buildings they knew still intact in a city transformed almost beyond recognition. One of the films juxtapositions might sound too overt and pointless when described, yet it makes for an eloquent ending. In the penultimate shot, shot from a low angle, a group of rural workers recede into the distance (the film makes consistently strong use of forced perspective) on a plain of parched, cracked earth. At the forefront is a small child clasping a metal bucket, and a women holding out an empty metal bowl. They seem to be pleading to the camera for food in times of need, and the image would almost be crushingly overstated if not for one element; among this static poised group, the child is fidgeting and looking nervously around, bringing an almost comic touch of disruptive chance to this otherwise contrived-seeming tableau. In contrast, the following (and final) shot is one of plenty: its an open-air restaurant in a city, a vision of movement and life, with a musician seen singing and playing guitar, and some sort of agitated debate going on in the background. Everything is vivid and spontaneous. Scan the image long enough, though, and youll notice one of Wangs poised, still gazers almost hidden on the left side of the screen: a young man looking out at us, absolutely still, a figure of photographic fixity in the middle of cinematic movement and, by way of a sign-off, challenging us to piece together the films sprawling imagistic jigsaw for ourselves. It also sums up what he has been trying to achieve in three decades of highly varied fictional features. True to both its English and Chinese ( My Lens' titles, Chinese Portrait is a subjective and utterly revealing snapshot of the state of Wang's country. Devoid of voiceovers, dialogue or onscreen descriptions, Chinese Portrait has made much fewer waves among buyers and programmers (it bowed in Busan, then IDFA) compared to the directors more accessible fictional titles. But the success in Berlin of his feature So Long, My Son, which won best actor and actress awards last month, has given the documentary a new lease on life. Cinema Guild has picked up U. S. rights and is set to release the film theatrically later this year. With its powerful, panoramic survey of a society in transformation — consider this the earnest, narrator-free equivalent of Patrick Keiller's sardonic Robinson film trilogy — the doc provides a key to understanding Wang and the sixth-generation Chinese filmmakers of which he is a part. It fits into a growing number of unconventional Chinese documentaries driven by the cutting and remixing of existing material, like Zhu Shengze's Rotterdam winner rfect   or Lei Lei's Berlin Forum title Breathless Animals. According to Wang, Chinese Portrait was born in 2009 out of his urge to pay tribute to the work of his painter friend Liu Xiaodong. Director Jia Zhangke had previously highlighted Liu in his more conventional documentary Dong in 2006. Here, instead, Wang travels up and down China, creating his own cine-paintings from people leading their everyday lives. The predominant style of Chinese Portrait  is static shots in which subjects — miners, fishermen, students, passengers on a train — pose for Wang's camera. In one clever shot, the posing is double: Amid the wreckage of the Sichuan earthquakes, he films young women posing for a painter (presumably Liu) on the edge of the screen. Many of the scenes in Chinese Portrait focus on labor. There are farmers cultivating potatoes in a field; technicians monitoring a steel furnace; an army of workers stationed at sewing machines on a shop floor; and office workers in suits staring into rows of computers which seem to go on forever. But there are also nods to China's post-industrial landscape, depicted in retired workers visiting the emptied shell of their soon-to-be-demolished factory, a showroom with models of future skyscrapers and vast shopping arcades looming large over hawkers and pedestrians. The enormous cultural and economic disparity in China is vividly revealed in Wangs scenes of rural life and Valérie Loiseleux's telling editing. Impoverished kids in the arid western hinterlands line up outside their made-in-mud schools, in sharp contrast to classrooms in metropolitan universities. A shot of people idling outside rickety huts is followed by young uniformed chefs taking a break in the back of city noodle restaurants. There are even visual collisions within the frame, as when traditional ethnic-minority musicians perform in a modern downtown car park. These juxtapositions hint at Wang's thoughts about the direction China is heading and how its different communities fare amidst such changes. But Chinese Portrait also marks the director's own rite of passage in life. He appears onscreen in shots filmed in Tiananmen Square, where the military clampdown on pro-democracy movements in 1989 shaped the worldview of Wang's generation of artists and filmmakers. We see him again on a train, which probably represents his memories of his family being "sent down" from Shanghai to China's southwestern backwaters during the Cultural Revolution, and then again outside a crumbling factory from the industrial urban landscapes he grew up in as a teenager. More than just chronicling a country in transformation, Chinese Portrait  signals seismic shifts in cinema as well. The differences in textures and aspect ratios of the different scenes reveal the universal leap of filmmaking from analog to digital, as grainy 4:3 aspect ratio shots sit alongside sharp, widescreen vistas. Demanding attention, imagination and critical viewing from the audience, Chinese Portrait is nevertheless one for posterity. They almost got Eosmon, but Eosmon evolves, becomes super fast by summoning some kind of panel to step on, boosting its speed. Taichi Yamato decides to go Omegamon against the evolved Eosmon. Omegamon destroys all the speed boosting panels. Omegamon about to finish off Eosmon, but suddenly struggles and goes back to Koromon Tsunomon. Eosmon escapes. Menoa tells Taichi that his time with Agumon is running out. The clock shaped appears on Taichi and Yamato digivices. Koshiro Takeru is okay, because they are still younger than Taichi. After the first Eosmon encounter, Koshiro tries to examine the destroyed parts of Eosmon. Yamato suspects Menoa and her assistant. So Yamato keeps eye on them, and asks the 02 kids to background-check Menoa and her assistant Kyotaro. Taichi comes back to his room, Not his old home. His room near the college. Menoa is the villain and creator. Kyotaro is good. Menoa is a psychopath. Menoa created Eosmon. Koshiro found out that Eosmon is an artificial Digimon, traced it back to Menoa's past studies. So, Menoa reveals her true self to Koshiro. Eosmon takes koshiro soul and Menoa steals the list of all the digidestined in the world from Koshiro. That list was what Menoa wanted. Koshiro sent the coordinates of the Eosmon's hideout to Taichi right before his soul is taken by Eosmon. Taichi and Yamato goes to face Eosmon. Menoa and Eosmon was waiting them. "Welcome to the Neverland. Menoa tells Taichi that the kids souls taken by Eosmon can stay together with their digimons forever in Eosmon's area. All the other kids souls got their own floating crystal islands, asleep along with their Digimons. The kids souls are younger than their reality. Meiko and Meicoomon is there too, asleep. Menoa tells Taichi that she is the savior of all the digidestined. That she can save them from parting with their partner digimon. She was deeply hurt when her partner suddenly disappeared. Taichi Yamato hesitates, greymon garurumon attacks Eosmon. The other kids soul and their partner digimons wake up with red eyes, they disrupt greymon and garurumon. Menoa tells Taichi that they are not controlled, just trying to protect Eosmon's world to stay with their partners. The red eyed Digimons do not evolve. tentomon palmon patamon tailmon. Menoa summons an army of Eosmon. Taichi Yamato desperate and hopeless. They retreat to somebody's floating island. So Menoa freely sends her army to the real world. She knows where all the digidestineds are. She have Koshiro list. In the real world, the 02 fight Eosmons. Taichi Yamato Agumon Gabumon do a pep talk. They are determined. Ready to risk everything. They come back to face Menoa and Eosmon. Omegamon destroys Eosmons, like it did to Diablomon clones. Menoa screams in despair, Eosmon takes in Menoa. Absorbing Menoa, Eosmon evolves. The final form of Eosmon. It literally cuts Omegamon into pieces. Agumon Gabumon fall. Taichi and Yamato are assaulted by the other kids red eyed souls and their partner digimons. Taichi not giving up, grabs young Hikari soul's whistle, blows it. Hikari and the others come back. Sora is in the real world, in her home safe. Somehow heard the whistle. Not joining the battle. She made a firm choice not to fight anymore, but believes in the other kids. Just waits their return. Sora and piyomon does nothing in the movie. Kabuterimon togemon ikkakumon angemon angewomon starts to fight the final Eosmon. They are kinda buying time for Agumon and Gabumon. Taichi Yamato, Agumon Gabumon never giving up, achieve their Final Evolution. Kore Ga Ore Taichi no saigou no shinkada. Honestly, the Final Evolutions are awful. Taichi and Agumon do not fuse. The final Greymon looks like naked ShineGreymon, and the final garurumon looks like Wolfmon. I did not like them at all. Of course, they defeat the final Eosmon and Menoa comes out of Eosmon body. Eosmon incident is over. Kyotaro as a fbi agent, arrests Menoa. Everything back, but nothing can stop the clock. Agumon and Gabumon disappears. Taichi Yamato cry. Taichi moves on, living his daily life without Agumon, firmly believing they will be reunited. The movie ends.

I actually liked this ending, there are many references to the previous installments, and it has real stakes, i am not trying to be bias here, everyone has their own opinion, definitely will check this movie when it comes out.
